There are many reasons why goat milk soap is superior to store bought versions:

  • No harsh detergents or chemicals (See next question for more info). Cold processed soaps help condition your skin without stripping it of the natural oils that are there to protect your skin. This leads to healthier, supple skin.
  • Goat milk helps soothe skin irritations. Even individuals with skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis have seen excellent results (including me).
  • Goat milk contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) which help exfoliate your skin by breaking down the bonds between dead skin and living tissue. This results in a healthier, colorful skin tone.
  • Cream in the milk helps to moisturize skin of the user. Vitamins and minerals in the goat milk help nourish your skin.
  • Vitamin A- helps repair skin cells, reduce wrinkles, and control acne. Others include vitamin B1, B6, B12, selenium, calcium, sodium, zinc, and iron all help aid the body.
  • Naturally scented using all natural essential oils. These are extracted from plants and we blend them into the soap to give pleasing scents like (lavender, tea tree, and lemongrass to name a few.
  • We use natural colorants such as clay, oxides, and mica to give color to our soaps.
  • Detailed Goat Milk benefits information

In general it comes down to large companies want to make money and buy using lower quality ingredients, they can drop prices.....but this can negatively impact your body and health.

  • First and foremost, mass produced "soap" at your super market is not soap at all (check the label if you don't believe me). They throw all kinds of funny wording on label (body wash, body bar, beauty bar, etc) except "soap". The reason why is that they are comprised of detergents and chemicals used to generate lather, scent, and firm up the bars. The trouble is these chemicals and detergents are hard on your skin and can dry them out (not to mention expose you to questionable compounds).
  • Fragrances generated in a lab may contain tens to hundreds of various chemical compounds to mimic the scent consumers find pleasing...these are not natural at all and can lead to skin irritation or allergic reactions.
  • Colorants and dyes used in industrial products may contain artificial colorants which can have questionable health effects such as irritation and some are classified as carcinogens.

We use the cold-process method when handcrafting our soap. It involves mixing lye, oils, and milk to achieve a chemical reaction with produces the soap you know and love. We use unique blends of oil and natural ingredients to get a perfectly balanced soap that cleans your body, but at the same time moisturizes the skin. It is perfectly safe and each batch is tested to ensure excellent quality.

We have small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats who live on our property. We use their milk for yogurt, kefir, cheese, and to produce our soap. During certain time of the year our goats provide none, we partner with a local goat farmer who provides us with a wholesome milk.

Nigerian Dwarf goats are the bomb! We selected this breed because of the high butter fat percentage. It makes sweeter milk and adds an awesome moisturizing effect to our soaps you cannot get anywhere else. Also their small stature makes it easier for our kids to manage them when needed.

We make our soap in small batches to control the quality. But variations in swirls or design of that batch may occur. It is part of what makes each bar one of a kind!
Once we remove the soap from its mold, we hand-cut the bars. This can lead to slight variations in weights and shapes. Sure we could spend extra time shaving the bars so they are exactly the same weight. But that would increase labor costs and the price of the bars. So we sell the bars as having a guaranteed weight range....think of it as our family giving you extra to ensure your happy.

The short answer is that we provide a higher quality soap. The longer answer is for two main reasons:

  • How our soap is scented -Some of our competitors use are chemical based fragrances which are not so nice for your body. While they may smell good and cost very little compared to essential oils, we do not think it is worth compromising your health. Since we are focused on natural products and maintaining a healthy body, we are using only essential oils to scent our soaps. Depending on the type of essential oil, this can raise our cost of production.
  • Goat milk - We use goat milk in almost every bar we craft because of the numerous benefits for your skin and body ( more information here link ). The cost of keeping the heard and producing goat milk adds a slight cost to our soaps.
If you make a true comparison between our products you will find we are very generously priced and you body will thank you for it.

Yes we do! Please use the contact page to send us an email for price quote and details. We can make soaps for events such as weddings, baby showers, or company events. In general we need at least 1-2 months lead time to get the custom stamps, craft the soap, and then allow it to cure (4-6 weeks).
